Law Enforcement Seminars, Publications & Professional Services

Hello, I’m Brian Fitch. I.M.P.A.C.T. is our acronym for Interpersonal Management Program and Communication Training. I am a 32 year full-time law enforcement officer and a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. I also serve as an adjunct faculty member in the California state university system in the field of human behavior and I teach at a Los Angeles-area law school. My master’s degree is in communications studies and my doctorate is in human development. I am a California POST certified master instructor and teach police communication skills throughout California and the United States. I have been working with Thomas & Means for about 10 years. I am proud to say that I was a founding member of its IMPACT Project faculty and that I now serve as its primary subject matter expert in communication skills. I can personally attest that the content of T&M communication skills training is cutting edge and, in many important ways, unique. Our programs include:

  • Tools for assessing officers’ communication skill levels.
  • Computer-based and live training to improve officer communication skills.
  • Training for FTOs, supervisors and other coaches in how to supervise in this critical area.
