Law Enforcement Seminars, Publications & Professional Services

Hi, I’m Greg Seidel. In 2009, I left my 28 year career in law enforcement to work with Thomas & Means as Executive Director Of Policy And Training. I’m located in Virginia, where I retired as a police captain. I have commanded SWAT teams, investigative and patrol divisions, and headed professional standards and training bureaus. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and I have provided a great deal of law enforcement training, from ethical to tactical, to police agencies around the country.

This as context, I tell you now that my proudest training involvement is with Thomas & Means. I have been attending its training programs as a participant for more than twenty years. I can personally attest to its quality.

Our computer-based training products include:

The Police Authority Training System (PATS) – training on the federal constitutional principles - arrest and detention, search and seizure, interview and interrogation - that govern day to day police work, the principles that can and do cause criminal cases and civil lawsuits to be won and lost.

The I.M.P.A.C.T. Project (Interpersonal Management Program and Communication Training) – a skills assessment and training tool for human relations and interpersonal communication skills in officer-citizen/suspect contacts.

Both of these products have associated video and paper products which can be used independently of the complete computer-based system.
