Wayne Austin Wayne Austin is a 29-year veteran of the Greensboro, N.C. Police Department. After 10 years of serving as a uniformed patrol officer, he was transferred to the personal services division where he served as a training officer for 12 years. His responsibilities included defensive driving, defensive tactics, officer survival and firearms instructor, which included being the departmental range master. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of the transitional training from the revolver to the semi auto pistol. In 1990 Wayne was transferred to the vice/narcotics division where he currently serves as a corporal in the narcotics squad. Brian Bissett and Wayne are responsible for the development and implementation of the motel/hotel narcotics enforcement program for their department. They have worked in this capacity for the past 18 months and have investigated more than 100 cases involving motel/hotel narcotics activity. In that time, more than $500,000 in us currency, 22 kilos of cocaine, 26 kilos of marijuana, 8 vehicles and 29 firearms have been seized. In addition to the seizures, 82 persons, including 9 individual who were fugitives from justice, were arrested. |
